We treat children with a variety of problems: anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disability, trauma, oppositional behavior, and grief.
Dr. Greer-Clark sees children (3 years to 12 years) and adolescents (13 to 18 years of age). David Clark works with adolescents (13 to 18 years of age).
In treating children, Dr. Greer-Clark typically meets with the child and the parents together, particularly when the child is young. However, she also sees the child individually and the parents privately, depending upon the issues at hand and the need.
In treating adolescents, Dr. Greer-Clark usually meets with them privately, and periodically consults with the parents to obtain family information and to offer suggestions in how to help their teenager. In some instances, family therapy may be recommended. David Clark also typically works with adolescents individually and meets with the parents privately to provide consultation. He also may suggest family sessions if needed.
In working with children and adolescents (when parents are present or not present) cognitive-behavior therapy is utilized. When parents are seen privately regarding their child, typically they are guided in understanding child development, as well as understanding the particular nature of their child's problem. Additionally, they are aided in developing effective positive parenting techniques.
