Dr. Greer-Clark conducts psychological testing or psychological evaluations with adults and children. A psychological evaluation involves being administered a variety of psychological tests, and is a formal situation in that it involves the examiner asking specific questions and the examinee responding. Usually a battery of tests are given, which can take approximately 2 to 5 hours to complete. Most often, specific tests are given to assess cognitive functioning, academic skills, and emotional functioning.
Typically, psychological testing is done to determine a specific diagnosis, to rule out a diagnosis/problem, or for educational placement purposes. Testing may be done to determine the following: a learning disability, cognitive impairment, an autistic spectrum disorder, or an emotional problem/impairment.
Dr. Greer-Clark performs extremely thorough psychological evaluations. Following testing, an “interpretative” session is arranged with the examinee and/or parents, whereby Dr. Greer-Clark explains the test findings in a detailed manner. A thorough report is also given to the examinee or parents.
